JOB TITLE
General Manager of The Rickards Gallery

JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for management, operation & presentation of The Rickards Gallery in coordination with The Frame Shop and The Open Door Venue.

HOURS/SALARY
FULL TIME starting @ 42k/year
Full benefits / Flexible schedule / Room for growth / PTO / Shift meal & drink


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • GALLERY

CUSTOMER SERVICE / SALES
- Primary point of contact and first person to greet each guest & ensure all feel welcome
- Being knowledgeable & educated so all questions can be answered
- Engaging people as they walk through the gallery space
- Full understanding of policies & procedures to best assist each customer and every transaction
- Offering any/all available information, services or accommodations to encourage sales

INVENTORY
- Maintaining inventory & backstock for successful gallery curation
- Dan Rickards
- Consigned artists
- Wholesale items
- Merchandize
- Supplies
- Receiving new inventory and inputting/uploading into Google Sheets, Square & Squarespace
- Daily monitoring of current inventory 

EVENTS
- Coordinating with TOD for at least one event/month
- Creating content for promotions in print, on web & on social
- Documenting events & archiving content for future reference

ARTISTS 
- Communicating sales, venue updates, customer feedback & inventory needs 
- Facilitating new artwork drop offs & old artwork returns
- Coordinating monthly featured shows & dinners

  • FRAMING SHOP

FRAMING / STRETCHING
- Basic understanding of how frame shop operates to ensure proper customer service with orders
- Design interfacing with customers and ability to use framing software
- Communicating turnaround times & honoring deadlines
- Coordinating framing needs with Framing Manager

  • OTHER JOB EXPECTATIONS
