HELEN BRISSON

With a background in graphic design, Helen rediscovered her quilting roots when she came to Central Oregon over a decade ago. Her long arm quilting machine makes it possible for her to sketch her original images into the fabric, often incorporating dimensionality into her work. She prefers creating her fabric by dying and printing, but also enjoys using the wonderful commercial fabrics found at local quilt shops.

It's important to Helen that she shares her knowledge and passion for quilting, because learning different styles and techniques from other quilters is what it's all about. Her work includes imagery from liturgical items as well as imagery found from within nature. The show currently hanging at The Clearwater Gallery features artwork directly inspired from Central Oregon trees.
