Featured this month is the stunning work of local artist Sarah B Hansen. Sarah paints with a multimedia approach incorporating gesso, gouache, acrylic and layered objects. Her paintings are highly conceptual with each piece telling a unique story about a specific location.
Circles represent local bird songs. Squares are tangible forms such as rocks, trees or clouds. And vertical lines represent stability, strength and freedom.
She then uses poetry or personal sketchbook excerpts to further her emotional connection and create a conversation within the nature she's experiencing. Sarah’s work is truly breathtaking and meticulously executed - an absolute must see.
